Jersey City Row House
Jersey City, New Jersey

This 3,000 square foot renovation of an exiting home in Jersey City consisted of removing all interior finishes, plumbing, and mechanical equipment. Modifications to the structure were required due to water damage and improper installation of plumbing systems by the previous owner which compromised the stability of the building. The redesign provided a new living room and kitchen on the first floor, a library, laundry room, and office on the second floor and bedrooms on the third floor. Drawing on the context of the historical homes in the area, we designed a mansard roof to provide a unique and distinguished profile. The mansard roof also enabled us to design an observation room at roof level that offers spectacular views of the Jersey City water front and the Manhatten skyline as well as access to a roof deck. The basement contanis a game room, storage, and a mechanical room. The home is heated with radiant floor heating that is zoned to ensure maximum efficiency and comfort.
